Railways, subways, and streetcars

Do you work in a role that affects safety on railways, subways, or streetcars? If so, you may need to undergo a special medical examination in accordance with current medical requirements.

We offer health examinations for employees with security-related duties and help both individuals and companies obtain the appropriate certificates based on the requirements for each position.

Please note that we do not currently conduct medical examinations or issue certificates for train operators.

What does the survey include?

The medical examination is tailored to your job duties and the requirements of your position. It may include, among other things, a general physical examination, an assessment of your vision and hearing, as well as testing and questions regarding your alcohol and drug use.

Physicians with relevant training and expertise

We have physicians trained in traffic medicine through the Swedish Transport Agency, as well as physicians with FLÄK certification (certified medical examiners). This enables us to assist with medical examinations based on various medical requirements for rail, subway, and tram systems.

The inspections are conducted in accordance with the regulations and requirements applicable to each task, including:

– TSFS 2019:112:Health examinations for personnel performing safety-critical duties in the railway sector.

– TSFS 2019:113:Health examinations for personnel whose duties are critical to safety in the subway and tram systems.

– The Traffic Administration’s health requirements for relevant certifications within SL’s rail environment.
